Once upon a time the Supreme as the Non-manifest Absolute decided to manifest himself. He willed to be many and found a mechanism to be so. Had it been in the manifest transcendent there would not have been the ‘many’, as it is incapable of making differentiation. The mechanism that was discovered was via the Void. The Supreme became the Nothing, the Zero, the pregnant Zero. It is through this Void that, later, Savitri, following the spirit of Satyavan after his death, cut a door of entry to meet the Supreme and claim him back for the soul of the earth. “I shall be many”—that was the desire and to carry it out the Supreme emptied himself out fully.
