Here is Sri Aurobindo’s Rose of God written in stress metre, each line with six stresses. These stresses are put in blue font and are underlined. The five powers of perfection it speaks of are: Bliss-Light-Power-Life-Love, Ananda-Prakash-Shakti-Jivan-Prema. In the House of the Spirit where rules this law of Perfection we have the real presence of the Rose, of the real Rose, the Rose of God. It is this Rose that has to bloom on the earthly soil, in the Garden of the Earth. Sri Aurobindo and the Mother’s yoga-tapasya is for that purpose. We shall see some of the aspects of poetry of this Rose of God separately.
